The Friends of Hospice pilot outreach program aims to increase awareness and understanding of hospice, and encourage people to talk to their families about their wishes should they ever face a serious health challenge. Letters inviting community members to help spread the word are being sent to thousands of residents in Butte, Tehama and Glenn counties. Reporting about end-of-life options can make a substantial contribution to community understanding. The following information is offered to interested reporters and editors. People who have benefited directly from hospice may be available to comment, along with representatives of coalition sponsors.
